433) The first roosters on our way down to Key West...

This was the moment I caught sight of the very first roosters during our road trip from Jax to Key West.

We were stopped at a Dunkin in Hialeah, Florida, for a coffee and one last break before getting on the overseas highway. Of course, there have been an abundance of roosters during the course of this adventure, and I might have filmed nearly every single one I laid eyes on. I'm not sure though.

Either way, I really believe that seeing all the roosters and chickens - to me - are a pure delight, and true highlight of visiting the Keys. They have quite a personality too. Would you believe it if I told you a bunch of these very roosters in this parking lot came right up to the car, and um, really wanted to hop inside. I said, omg they're gonna jump in the car lol.

428) It's cold outside in Florida - the plants are inside the house 1.22.25

It’s cold outside in The Sunshine State. We had to move our plants inside from our porch. I hope they survive… This is truly historic.

Join me and Genevieve Noel as she completes her morning routine. Genevieve waters the plants every single day. But today the plants aren’t in their usual spot. Which made this excited little Sheltie girl just a bit extra excited today.

427) A very brief walk in Howell Park - Atlantic Beach, Florida 1.18.2025

Join me today for a very brief walk in beautiful Howell Park. Located in Atlantic Beach, Florida, this park is one of my favorites at the beach! It’s blended right into an adorable coastal neighborhood, with streams and bridges, picnic tables and other benches scattered about. There are gravel trails, and some areas have wooden boardwalks, plus free on-site parking.

It’s so peaceful and serene… I love looking for creatures, and I usually see a turtle or two at a minimum. Mostly, I simply enjoy looking at all the foliage, watching the palm fronds flow in the winds of the day, keeping my eye out for lizards, and simply appreciating all the natural beauty surrounding me here.

Definitely check this very special place out next time you are in Atlantic Beach!

426) Meeting Mrs. Breadsticks - Why Saying Yes Changed My Life

Embarking on a new endeavor.

~ And why saying yes can change your life too:

I’ve read a lot in the past about saying no, and when to say no, for self-care purposes. There are seemingly infinite self-help articles, blogs, books, and videos, all about teaching you to learn to say no.

Whether its saying no to helping an acquaintance move, driving someone to the airport that you really don’t have the time or desire to drive them to, saying no to a night out when you just want to curl up under a blanket and watch a movie, or saying no to taking on a new project that you can’t wrap your brain around at this point in time.

I think, and this is just my very generalized opinion, that humans for the most part no longer have a problem with learning how to say no, and saying so declaratively. I think all those self-care books have done the job they’ve set out to do… and then some. Today, there seems to be absolutely no problems with saying no. You can just say NO, and move on with your life. No big deal.

But what about saying yes? What about learning to say yes to something that you would normally just say no to in response?

Over two years ago now, I was asked to illustrate a children’s book - it was my first children’s book as an artist. And now, looking back on this decision over two years later, I know that saying yes to this project was truly one of the best decisions of my life.

I said yes to this project sight unseen. Simply meaning, I didn’t know the author (Mary S. Holden) at the time. Now, we’re dear friends - of course! But at the time, it began purely as a business transaction. A business transaction that meant the whole world to me. It was faith that told me to say yes. I desperately wanted the project, but didn’t know if the project wanted me.

By saying yes, I embarked on the adventure of a lifetime. I created thirty two pages of illustrations, and helped bring the author’s lovely characters to life. It was such a pleasure, and an honor, and I’m so glad that Mary said yes, to me, as well.

I never dreamed I could become so attached to fictional characters. I never imagined that there would come a day in my life where I would wake up in the morning, grab my cup of coffee, and want to immediately check on my new friends - all hanging out in my art studio. I would run into my studio and say hello to them, to greet the new day ahead. And I would wonder… what should Mrs. Breadsticks wear today? That anticipatory part of the routine… was the most exciting part of the entire process for me.

But there was another joyous part of this project that was the best of all. It was in the culmination, and ripple effect of decisions, that saying yes sparked in my life. It was how by saying yes to this project, my life was, once again, completely transformed.

Once I said yes to Mrs. Breadsticks, there were an abundance of yes’ that came into my life. I said yes to so many things after that initial yes. A simple change - my studio setup changed (over and over) until I found just the right feng shui arrangement for best work flow. My daily routine changed entirely. My exercise changed. My art changed. My YouTube channel changed immensely. All of this change, in so many ways - too many to mention here.

In fact, my art changed so much after the book - which was illustrated completely in acrylic - that I’m almost exclusively working in a new medium right now.

I’ve just spent over a full year working in watercolor - something I was too scared, and much too timid, shy and fearful, to try - before my experience of painting Mrs. Breadsticks.

And now, watercolor is my life. It’s a dream. And my paintings are so different. And I’m in love with the process of creating art, even more than I ever thought I could be. I even wrote my own children’s book during the course of last year, 2024, and illustrated the entire book (in watercolor) - which will be released this spring exclusively on Amazon.

Another fact, I've been so intensely busy living this post-Mrs. Breadsticks life, that I have been too preoccupied to even publish a blog post and post this story until today - many, many months after the book's formal publication date. It actually took me getting seriously ill with pneumonia and bronchitis during the end of 2024 and into practically the whole month of January 2025, to really slow me down, and ‘make’ the time in my schedule to publish a dedicated blog post on my own website on this matter.

I am also happy to report I’m on the mend, quickly now, and improving every day. So, naturally, I’m getting this story out into the world this day, before I become ‘too well’ and too busy, once again to tell you all about how Mrs. Breadsticks changed my life.

Years from now, I know that I will always remain grateful for Mrs. Breadsticks coming into my life, and for the author asking me to complete this project. Because Mary S. Holden is the singular reason this all happened. But just the same, I know that I will always be grateful - to myself - for having the courage to say yes to Mrs. Breadsticks. Because saying yes did change my life. And saying yes can change your life too.~

Happy New Year's Eve dreamers!

As the sun sets on this final day of the year, and we say goodbye to all that has come and gone, all that we have been through and experienced, I only hope we can look back and smile.

I would like to think that maybe we learned a little something, grew as human beings, and mostly, laughed a whole heck of a lot.

On this channel, we have grown our community of dreamers. And we've been all over the Sunshine State... We've driven a million miles, watched the sun wake up the sky, walked a million more miles, rode auto ferries, trekked across bridges and intracoastal waterways, gazed upon the flowing currents of many rivers, caught the sight of dolphins... and many more than a million shorebirds. We felt the sand in between our fingers, collected an abundance of beautiful seashells, got our shoes nice and muddy, and kissed the sun goodnight together.

There's much more than all of that though - too much to ever write down. Because the important thing here is simply the experience itself. And for those that have been on the journey, I'm so glad we could experience all the beauty of this planet Earth together.

And for all the new dreamers - those who are yet to find us on one of our adventures together - we'll be over here. Exploring the world around us, walking, seeking, enjoying the journey, laughing, dreaming... and smiling.

Happy New Year's Eve to each of you. Many cheers, and a raised glass, to toast the end of yet another chapter of life. Letting the old year die, with a fond goodbye.

Seasons Greetings from San Marco!

Thank you so much for joining me on this lovely December morning for a walk through Jacksonville, Florida's historic San Marco neighborhood. And many thanks for celebrating my 44th birthday with me today.

Plus, we had some special guests joining us today! @rollinwiththenolans

We began with a venti hot latte from Starbucks in the Town Square, then viewed the brand new - and first annual - Christmas Tree trail, which was a very welcome surprise! Then we strolled down through the neighborhood to Landon Park and the butterfly garden, and onward to the banks of the St. Johns River.

San Marco still remains my very favorite area of Jacksonville. And there's nowhere else I'd rather celebrate my birthday at, than in this fabulous part of town... to see their Christmas Tree, and look at the San Marco Lions, with their finest seasonal apparel on. And there's nobody else I'd rather spend my birthday with, than with all of you - our wonderful community of dreamers.

So many thanks for walking alongside me today. Good tidings and cups of cheer are sent your way on this day. Turning 44 truly is a blessing.

After our livestream in San Marco, we went over to Friendship Fountain for their first visit there.

We got really lucky because we even just happened to randomly see Santa Claus breeze past us on a hoverboard, cruising down the Southbank Riverwalk! I guess he was a on a brief lunch break. Either way, he's definitely back to work at the North Pole today because less than two days remain until Christmas Day.

Join me on this very hot summer morning in the charming coastal town of Vilano Beach, Florida. We’ll take a relaxing walking tour of this tiny beach town, and soak in the sun while we’re at it. It’s ‘Street to the Beach’ time, baby! Why do we do Street to the Beach? Because all of life’s greatest paths lead out to the beach.

415) Love and prayers for California, pneumonia update, happy Monday 1.13.25

Good morning fellow dreamers! And welcome to another week on this beautiful planet Earth.

I just wanted to pop on and say hello, and wish you all a very happy Monday! I’m still not well enough to do our usual Monday morning motivational sunrise live stream, due to still being sick, so it feels strange to not be out there on the beach bright and early this morning.

Along with that, just a quick update on the pneumonia I got last week and how I’ve been doing, and feeling now.

But, most importantly, I just want to offer out there into the world my loving thoughts and prayers for all those in the Los Angeles, California area and the entire southern California region affected by these awful wildfires. I know it’s not much, or it might not really help, but I still just want to express my love. From just one person living in the Sunshine State, sending love, hope, and prayers, all the way to the City of Angels.

413) Quick personal update - doctor appt, xray, pharmacy, hydrate. 1.7.2025

A quick update after getting sick and seeing the doctor. Just wanting to say hello and let you know how it’s going. Yesterday I had a doctor appointment, they said I had pneumonia, then a chest x-ray at the hospital, and then we went to the pharmacy to pick up my prescriptions. While waiting for the medications, Bryan got me a Bahama Mama from Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Bahama Mama is my absolute favorite! What’s your favorite smoothie?

And, also just a friendly reminder to try and stay hydrated during these cold winter months and the worst of cold and flu season. Water is so important. If you’re feeling sick like me right now, keep a water bottle by your side, and even just take sips. I have zero appetite and desire to drink anything, which is the absolute opposite of how I normally feel. I’m not used to this feeling at all, and am literally forcing myself to hydrate. I figure I can’t be alone in that feeling while sick, so just me throwing it out there and reminding you to drink your water too!

I'm not feeling very well at all and I'm going to the doctor today. I'm not going to stream tomorrow or Saturday as planned. I think the smart thing would be to stay in from this extremely cold weather - even though you all know how much I want to be outside and breathing that fresh, salty air.

We will still be going to Daytona Beach in the future, and I will revisit tomorrow's scheduled trip to a beautiful boardwalk on the St. Johns River, as soon as I feel it would be smart for me to get out there.

I'll still be posting videos as normal, the best I can while not feeling well, just not live-streaming as much - as editing videos gives me something to do that I love while also trying to rest. I have some travel for the channel coming up very soon and I want to be better asap.

Thoughts on what's coming up - I'm trying to be optimistic here and I will plan for a Monday livestream these next couple Monday's. I also know that whenever I get sick it takes me a very long time to recover - I'm weak, lol. So, we'll aim for Monday and go from there. Maybe I can do a Monday sunrise, and sit on the beach instead of walk, coming up.

I'll keep you posted, but in the mean time, I am always available in the comments section, the community tab, this post, videos, or my website, etc. So definitely say hello and we'll keep in touch through the videos until I can livestream in better health.

Here's your homework, lol - grab that piece of paper and a pen. Write down some goals you have for 2025. Divide those goals into one month chunks. Then, divide that month into a two week plan of attack. Getting it on paper is a declaration. Next - is action. What is one baby step you can take today, and over the course of the next two weeks, to help grow that dream into a reality? Put that piece of paper on your refrigerator. Take action - just one very small teeny, tiny baby step.

Seasons Greetings from St. Augustine, Florida!

As we are continuing to celebrate good tidings and joy all month long on the channel, December happens to be my favorite time of year in the Nation's Oldest City as well.

On this day we focused our walking tour on St. George Street and the Plaza de la Constitucion. This is one of the main areas to see the lights during the Nights of Lights, and also where the town Christmas tree is located. Also, St. George Street houses many of the most popular shops and restaurants, where visitors will frequent throughout this month and the entire festive season.

And while we were checking out the Plaza, we came across quite a surprise... Three little pigs in a buggy.

Yes, you read that right, lol.

In fact, these pigs were in the middle of an Instagram photo shoot when I stumbled upon them. They even had holiday light bulbs lit up on their heads. They were munching on their treats, with smiles as big as the Christmas tree. Temptation was too much, and I asked if I could pet them. Their owner said yes, and also showed me their Instagram so that I could share with you. The pigs are known as Prissy_Pig, in case you'd like to follow them on Instagram. Also, it just happened to be Pop's 11th birthday, the day prior.

I ended up seeing these adorable little pigs a few more times throughout that morning, and you know something? Each time I saw them, the pigs were being fed an abundance of treats. It's nice to know that Prissy, Pop, and the rest of the family are enjoying all the good things about the holidays, including the sweets.

Let me know - Have you ever run into a buggy full of little pigs in a park plaza, eating sweets, light bulbs flashing their heads, as they sit under a Christmas tree?

Happy Friday night everybody!

Thanks so much for joining me at Dutton Island Preserve for our very first Friday Night LIVE of 2025, and our first breathtaking sunset of the new year. It was such a lovely winter night and I'm so glad we could share the beauty of the intracoastal waterway together.

I just wanted to send a post your way because just before ending the livestream the entire stream completely crashed, and I could not sign back on to say a proper goodnight to you all. It actually even told me I had no internet access, so it would not allow me to go back into the stream, no matter what I did - which is why the stream froze and would not end. So I just wanted to let you know why the stream ended so abruptly, as that is something I never would actually want to happen.

I do hope you enjoyed Dutton Island with me. I think it was a fabulous sunset tonight, and I loved seeing the intracoastal at low tide. It's such a different perspective of the nature all around us as the tides change.

I'll be seeing you bright and early Monday morning for our first sunrise beach walk of the year in Jacksonville Beach. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead.
