538) Sea & Sky Air Show 2025 | A Remarkable Tribute to Jacksonville, Florida

From the sand, to the clouds... Thank you Jax!

Join me today, over the sea and above the clouds, for an amazing air show in the beautiful blue skies above Jacksonville Beach, Florida! We’ll see airplanes twirl and dance in the air, twist and turn, fly in formation, and seemingly defy gravity. I’ve got an up-close view to the best event at the beach - Sea & Sky Air Show Jax 2025!

And although the Blue Angels could not make it this year, due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, it’s in my experience being there to let you know that it’s definitely still worth the trip! 

In this video, I also briefly show you the official City shuttle buses - with two locations to park at going from Florida State College Jacksonville and University of North Florida. I also give you a look at the main staging area, in case you’ve never been and are curious of what amenities are available. There is plenty of tented shade, restrooms, merchandise, and even a viewing platform! Plus, Starbucks is about two steps away from the parking lot, along with all the other downtown Jax Beach shops and restaurants. 

So grab your sunblock, pack your beach towels and a bottle of water, and join me as we support these amazing flyers, as well as the great local establishments that call Jax Beach home. A very big thank you to all for putting on a great show - and we’ll see you back at the beach in 2027!

512) Sights & Sounds - of the Seashore! Hurricane Erin 470 miles off the Atlantic Coast

Join me this morning in beautiful Jacksonville Beach, Florida! Let’s enjoy some sights and sounds of the seashore together. 

On this day Hurricane Erin is 477.7 miles off the Atlantic coast. It is a day of red flags, dangerous rip currents and strong waves. While only very experienced and strong swimmers should be in the water on this day, the sandy shores were still enjoyed by many. It’s so fun (and somewhat addicting) to watch the waves crashing. 

I hope you enjoy some of the sights and sounds of the magnificent Atlantic Ocean with me this morning. And do let me know - which scene in this video resonated with you the most?

We learned a few fun and interesting facts about the magnificent Sea Turtle, and walked 30 minutes on the beach together. 

Be sure to join us on the beaches of the greater Jacksonville and St. Augustine area throughout this Sea Turtle nesting season, as we will be on the look out for nests while we do our livestream beach walks. And as the season progresses, maybe we'll learn some more about these fascinating creatures!

Q: When is Sea Turtle nesting season in Jacksonville Beach, Florida?

A: Sea Turtle nesting season is six months long here in Jax Beach, and runs May 1 - October 31 annually. We learned that there are 3 different types of Sea Turtles who nest here - the Loggerhead Sea Turtle, the Green Sea Turtle, and the Leatherback Sea Turtle. The Leatherback can way upwards of 660-1,100 pounds!

Plus, we watched, and laughed at, the biggest Polar Plunge celebration that I've definitely ever seen. It made me so happy to see so many people come together... to go jump in the Atlantic Ocean.

373) Deck The Chairs Set Up Has Begun! Jacksonville Beach, Florida 11.18.24

Some of us deck the halls… Jax Beach Decks The Chairs.

Every year here in Florida, I get really excited when the Deck the Chairs display is brought over to the SeaWalk Pavilion in downtown Jacksonville Beach. To me, seeing the display being built and brought to life along the oceanfront, really makes me feel that the holidays are nearly here.

By next week this display will be fully set up, and laughter, music, and the feeling of holiday community togetherness will be here once again. There will be hot chocolate, Dunkin Munchkins, ornaments, and candy canes. There will be music. And there will be beautiful lights once more… all set up on lifeguard chairs!

Deck the Chairs is the first Christmas holiday decoration display in Florida that I saw after moving down here back in 2017. So each year when I see it, I am brought back to my first Christmas as a Floridian, where I was trying to find every single holiday lights display in town that I could, having never seen any of it before. Everything was new to me. And there was so much excitement, as well as simple curiosity.

Now, more than seven and half years later, living here at the beach, Deck the Chairs is still always one of the first signs of the upcoming holidays. I’m still just as excited when I see it being set up, and I still look forward to opening night.

If you've never seen Deck the Chairs, I’m hoping if you are in Jax this year, you can get out and see the lights. But if you’re not here, we’ll still be able to enjoy it together here on YouTube. Happy Holidays!
