Seasons Greetings from St. Augustine, Florida!

As we are continuing to celebrate good tidings and joy all month long on the channel, December happens to be my favorite time of year in the Nation's Oldest City as well.

On this day we focused our walking tour on St. George Street and the Plaza de la Constitucion. This is one of the main areas to see the lights during the Nights of Lights, and also where the town Christmas tree is located. Also, St. George Street houses many of the most popular shops and restaurants, where visitors will frequent throughout this month and the entire festive season.

And while we were checking out the Plaza, we came across quite a surprise... Three little pigs in a buggy.

Yes, you read that right, lol.

In fact, these pigs were in the middle of an Instagram photo shoot when I stumbled upon them. They even had holiday light bulbs lit up on their heads. They were munching on their treats, with smiles as big as the Christmas tree. Temptation was too much, and I asked if I could pet them. Their owner said yes, and also showed me their Instagram so that I could share with you. The pigs are known as Prissy_Pig, in case you'd like to follow them on Instagram. Also, it just happened to be Pop's 11th birthday, the day prior.

I ended up seeing these adorable little pigs a few more times throughout that morning, and you know something? Each time I saw them, the pigs were being fed an abundance of treats. It's nice to know that Prissy, Pop, and the rest of the family are enjoying all the good things about the holidays, including the sweets.

Let me know - Have you ever run into a buggy full of little pigs in a park plaza, eating sweets, light bulbs flashing their heads, as they sit under a Christmas tree?

408) Cheers, Coffee, & Good Tidings - At Amelia Island Coffee

Cheers, coffee, and good tidings - are all found at Amelia Island Coffee.

This fabulous coffee shop, located right downtown Fernandina Beach, Florida on Amelia Island, is a lovely gathering spot in town, and I always truly enjoy coming here.

I love the location, because it's right in the middle of all the best shops and restaurants, and happens to be directly next to a Christmas tree adorned with white starfish garland. There are plenty of benches to find seating, and actually, in my own mind and imagination, this is the unofficial gathering spot for the entire town.

By sitting outside here, I can hear the sounds of bells ringing, I can see an endless amount of dogs with wagging tails out on their morning walks. I can glance down at the waterfront to see the boats arriving and departing the shoreline. And, if I'm extra lucky, I'll also catch a freight train, traveling slowly, straight past the town Christmas tree.

On this December morning I had a large hot latte, and their delicious blueberry muffin of course, while Bryan had an everything bagel toasted with cream cheese. And while you can sit inside as well, I always see lots of people taking grab-n-go to sit down by the water with their food and drinks. And even though it was so cold, we did just that.

So come for the coffee, stay for the breakfast. Grab a chair, or a bench outside, and watch the world - and the boats - go by.

397) Amelia Linen & Wood - on Centre Street in historic downtown Fernandina Beach, Florida

Thanks so much for joining me on Amelia Island in northeast Florida this week! Here's our new nutcracker, on display in our decorated hotel room, before going home.

I would definitely call this trip yet another successful Christmas, holiday themed, and Vlogmas adventure. I've been doing a Christmas getaway each year since living in Florida, and many of them seem to have taken me to Amelia Island. I hope you enjoyed all the charm of this small island as much as I did.

The fact that I came home with a souvenir I'll always cherish makes me even more happy and excited about this little holiday getaway. I purchased this adorable little nutcracker from Amelia Linen & Wood after our livestream ended. He is decked out in a baker's hat, topped with a gingerbread cookie, and holding a rolling pin.

My grandpa was a baker for over 40 years, and I miss him terribly sometimes - especially at this time of year. And my guess is it's because of him that I wanted this little guy to take home with me.

(And speaking of baking, we'll be making homemade candy cane cookies soon for Vlogmas, so I'll be posting the recipe here on the Community page in case you want to prepare and follow along with us.) I hope my Papa is happy that I try to keep the joy of baking alive - to share those moments with others. A joy that he instilled in me over the course of so many years, and oh so very many cookies. I can still picture him in his kitchen, rolling out dough. Flour - everywhere. Christmas movies playing on the television.

I think he would be happy that I try to travel every Christmas season. To see something new, to see a town when it's not its normal self or as it is year round, to see an area all decked out in its holiday finest.

On this beautiful, yet cold, day we toured the north side of Centre Street together in downtown Fernandina Beach. This area is on the National Register of Historic Places, and there is so much history present on every block. I learn something new every time I visit, and I hope you did too.

But mostly, I hope you enjoyed the holiday window displays, the dogs who were served special bones by happy shop owners, the friendly people who greeted us along the way, the starfish decorated Christmas Tree, the frosted window panes that I should never have actually touched lol, and the joy seeing something new and different around every corner.

I already miss Amelia Island and cannot wait to go back once again.

373) Deck The Chairs Set Up Has Begun! Jacksonville Beach, Florida 11.18.24

Some of us deck the halls… Jax Beach Decks The Chairs.

Every year here in Florida, I get really excited when the Deck the Chairs display is brought over to the SeaWalk Pavilion in downtown Jacksonville Beach. To me, seeing the display being built and brought to life along the oceanfront, really makes me feel that the holidays are nearly here.

By next week this display will be fully set up, and laughter, music, and the feeling of holiday community togetherness will be here once again. There will be hot chocolate, Dunkin Munchkins, ornaments, and candy canes. There will be music. And there will be beautiful lights once more… all set up on lifeguard chairs!

Deck the Chairs is the first Christmas holiday decoration display in Florida that I saw after moving down here back in 2017. So each year when I see it, I am brought back to my first Christmas as a Floridian, where I was trying to find every single holiday lights display in town that I could, having never seen any of it before. Everything was new to me. And there was so much excitement, as well as simple curiosity.

Now, more than seven and half years later, living here at the beach, Deck the Chairs is still always one of the first signs of the upcoming holidays. I’m still just as excited when I see it being set up, and I still look forward to opening night.

If you've never seen Deck the Chairs, I’m hoping if you are in Jax this year, you can get out and see the lights. But if you’re not here, we’ll still be able to enjoy it together here on YouTube. Happy Holidays!

189) My Vlogmas Journey in Florida... Sharing in the Holiday Spirit Together on YouTube! December 1-25 2023

Hey Holiday Dreamers!! It’s been a joy of my life to spend time with you on YouTube this December! And I really want to thank you for dreaming alongside me this holiday season 2023!

We explored numerous places together, experienced many new special moments together, cooked, baked, unboxed, drank festive non-alcoholic beverages together, traveled, rode an auto ferry, took the car on the beach, had a hotel room tour, I boarded a river cruise for a tour and dinner, St. Nicholas came to visit us, we opened Advent calendars, lit candles, sat by some lovely fireplace yule logs, and much more.

And with YouTube Shorts, videos, and 26 live streams during the course of 25 days! I’d say it’s near impossible for me to pick a favorite day of Vlogmas 2023, because I really just love the entire 25 days, of course. But, if I ‘must’ pick something that really stood out to me, I’d say it was the Parade of Trees in Green Cove Springs, Florida! A shocking 225 Christmas Trees decorated in their town square! It was a completely new experience to me, and I was truly shocked with how elaborate the display was. I definitely want to go back next year - on a warmer day - lol.

And, not a surprise to me, I especially enjoyed all the food and drink and baking and cooking we did together. I truly believe there’s really something special about good food, shared with great friends... And that’s exactly how I felt with every single cup we shared together, as well as all the special appetizers and cookies. And, it is my hope - that you felt the same way.

So, I just wanted to say THANK YOU. Thank you for being a fellow dreamer in this crazy world, and thank you for seeing the goodness in this special time of year, and thank you especially, for being a friend, and spending precious time with me. Thank you for helping me spread a smile and cup of good cheer and great tidings throughout the world, as the world surely does need more Cheer in it. All of this and then some - it means the world. And, last but certainly not least - I love you. Merry Christmas and Happiest of Holidays.

Hey Holiday Dreamers!! Merry Vlogmas 2023 Day 22 baby! Today I am celebrating my 43rd birthday! And I’m very excited to spend a part of my special day with you this Vlogmas! We are going to one of my very favorite areas in all of Jacksonville - the beautiful and historic San Marco neighborhood! We’re going to have a cup of coffee together from Starbucks, plus we bought a peppermint cake pop and a snowman cookie. And we’re going to check out the lovely lion fountain and see the lions with their wreaths on! Then we'll check out the magnificent Christmas Tree under the gazebo in Balis Park. 184) December Evening Walk down Ponte Vedra Boulevard in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida - Vlogmas 2023 Day 21

Hey Holiday Dreamers!! Merry Vlogmas 2023 Day 21 baby! Tonight we are going for a short walk down Ponte Vedra Boulevard in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. We’re here to check out all the decorated palm trees lining the way through the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. Now, keep in mind, we are not club members, although I can dream, and anyone can walk down the public street lining the private club and hotel. It is a dream of mine to at least stay at the hotel one day. And even if one is not a club member, anyone can stay the night in the hotel. So, maybe I will have to do that at some point. But, for tonight, we’re just taking a leisurely December evening stroll to gaze at all the palm trees, decked out in their holiday finest. Hey Holiday Dreamers!! Merry Vlogmas 2023 Day 20 baby! Tonight we are walking to the Vilano Beach Christmas Tree, which is located right at the base of the Vilano Beach Pier. We’ll check out their gorgeous Tree, and then walk on the Pier to see the boats coming and going to see the St. Augustine Nights of Lights!

I’m really excited because I have never seen the Vilano Beach Christmas Tree in all the years living in Florida! And, the Pier at night seemingly offers very different scenery than during the day. So, overall, this is a new experience for me, and I’m happy to explore it with y’all. Merry Vlogmas Day 20, and Happy Holidays!

182) Parade of Trees!! 225 Christmas Trees on Display in Green Cove Springs, Florida! Vlogmas 2023 Day 19

Hey Holiday Dreamers!!

Well, this may have been one of my favorite nights of Vlogmas 2023… I was SHOCKED by this exhibit! Parade of Trees is a must-do if you are in the greater Jacksonville area or St. Augustine area of Florida during the holiday season. I am so glad we happened to come here this year. And I do hope you enjoy the trees as much as I do.

So, we decided to go to the Parade of Trees in downtown Green Cove Springs, Florida on a chilly and brisk December evening. This event is free, walk through at your own pace, and open from sunset until 10pm - nightly, from December 2, 2023 through December 31, 2023.

Upon stepping out of the car, I felt truly immersed in the holiday spirit. That feeling stayed with me as I walked briskly through the display - it was cold, my friends. And my goal of doing Vlogmas, is hopefully to pass along some of that spirit to you and yours. So, please share in a cup of Good Cheer and Great Tidings this December. And let’s walk through 225 trees - together.

Merry Vlogmas 2023 Day 18!

Join me on a walk throughout Neptune Beach to see the Beaches Town Center Christmas Tree! Located ‘Where Atlantic Boulevard Meets the Ocean’ this is a combined Christmas Tree - shared with the town of Atlantic Beach, Florida. Quite a cool feature of this downtown area is that the towns Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach share a downtown, connected together, so that’s why they have a conjoined Christmas Tree as well. I also really love all the colorfully lit palm trees throughout the downtown, oversized ornaments and present boxes, Santa surfboards, and lifeguard chairs with wreaths adorned. After we see the tree, then we’re going to take a night walk on the beach. So put your walking shoes on and join me!

Today, we are walking! Together we are walking 0.85 miles together - so get your watches ready y’all! Plus, there’s a NorEaster - and it’s windy, which is stirring up a lot of seafoam. I LOVE seafoam y’all. Then, we’re going to check out the 2023 Deck the Chairs display during the day. By viewing the exhibit in daylight I definitely find myself catching details I don’t see at night. So grab your walking shoes, folks. We’re going on a December morning stroll together.
