456) My favorite drive in the world... to my favorite place in the world.

Hey there fellow dreamers!

Come along with Genevieve and I on a five hundred mile journey south - as we drive along the Jimmy Buffett Memorial Highway/S.R. A1A and U.S. Route 1/Overseas Highway.

We made our way from Jacksonville, Florida down to the Southernmost Point of the United States in Key West, Florida... My favorite drive in the world, to my favorite place in the world.

Along the way, we stopped at Bahia Honda State Park for the very first time! This is where you can get up close to some of the original Florida East Coast Railway bridges that are still visible. Built back in the earlier 1900's, I learned that much of what remains of these former tracks is now on the National Register of Historic Places.

One of the most special aspects of this drive to me is simple - it is the scenic view of the ocean waters. The open ocean, the channels, the creeks, the seemingly endless amount of bridges crossed. All the boats out, enjoying the ocean breeze. And while I know there are strong currents out there, it always amazes me to see those currents in motion. Mostly though, it's just the simple act of glancing at the water in the natural scenery, and it's the color of the water that just sends me to Heaven. It's a pure aqua, and crystal clear at the same time. It darkens as the clouds change overhead. And it glistens and sparkles in the hot, afternoon sunshine. It's other-worldly to me, looking out at the vast expanse of open ocean surrounding me. Looking out at the horizon, I can only think of how many stories that are out there, and are yet to be told.

I also share with you many of my favorite spots along the way, including food and drink stops, rest stops (I have rated rest stops my whole life lol), gas stops, hotels, and other sites as well - including the Florida Keys Sculpture Trail. This sculpture trail was another something new for me on this trip, and I include with the video, a link to a map of the Keys with all the sculptures and their locations along the way.

What's amazing to me about us being on these adventures together - with you - on YouTube, is that it was only through the act of actually editing this video that I learned these sculptures even existed. And I've driven this route so many times. So, I can't thank you enough for offering me the opportunity to learn so very much as we go through life's adventures together.

Happy Groundhog Day 2025, baby! Let’s celebrate this infamous holiday by stepping out into the Florida sunshine, and taking a look at Genevieve Noel’s shadow...

Today we’re checking out and departing the Waterside Suites & Marina in Key Largo, Florida. It’s the final day of our Florida Keys road trip for this winter 2025, and it’s very sad to leave, but we must go home! And, of course I’ll be happy once we get there. But it is definitely very hard and sad to say goodbye, even to the overseas highway.

Do you feel like I do when you have to leave someplace very special to you? Either way, thanks for coming along this journey with us, and I’ll see you in the next one, somewhere under that beautiful sun.

433) The first roosters on our way down to Key West...

This was the moment I caught sight of the very first roosters during our road trip from Jax to Key West.

We were stopped at a Dunkin in Hialeah, Florida, for a coffee and one last break before getting on the overseas highway. Of course, there have been an abundance of roosters during the course of this adventure, and I might have filmed nearly every single one I laid eyes on. I'm not sure though.

Either way, I really believe that seeing all the roosters and chickens - to me - are a pure delight, and true highlight of visiting the Keys. They have quite a personality too. Would you believe it if I told you a bunch of these very roosters in this parking lot came right up to the car, and um, really wanted to hop inside. I said, omg they're gonna jump in the car lol.

It’s cold outside in The Sunshine State. We had to move our plants inside from our porch. I hope they survive… This is truly historic.

427) A very brief walk in Howell Park - Atlantic Beach, Florida 1.18.2025

Join me today for a very brief walk in beautiful Howell Park. Located in Atlantic Beach, Florida, this park is one of my favorites at the beach! It’s blended right into an adorable coastal neighborhood, with streams and bridges, picnic tables and other benches scattered about. There are gravel trails, and some areas have wooden boardwalks, plus free on-site parking.

It’s so peaceful and serene… I love looking for creatures, and I usually see a turtle or two at a minimum. Mostly, I simply enjoy looking at all the foliage, watching the palm fronds flow in the winds of the day, keeping my eye out for lizards, and simply appreciating all the natural beauty surrounding me here.

Definitely check this very special place out next time you are in Atlantic Beach!

399) Holiday Baking Traditions

Baking night is tonight... Many thanks for joining us yesterday for Dough Day!

Genevieve had quite a big day yesterday. She got a bath - and besides home livestreams, getting a bath is one of her favorite activities. And then we put on our matching buffalo check pajamas for the evening (wearing an outfit is also extremely exciting for a little Sheltie), and we had a wonderful night together.

I'll see you this evening for baking night. I'm very curious how many cookies this much dough will produce. The recipe says we'll get 36 cookies out of it, but I'm not so sure.

391) Vlogmas: St. Nicholas came to our hotel room on Amelia Island. December 2024

Join Genevieve Noel and I on this cold December morning as St. Nicholas visits our hotel room in Florida! We were staying three nights at the Sea Cottages of Amelia on Amelia Island, and were so excited that St. Nicholas found us while we were away from home.

Today, Genevieve Noel receives her very first Disney Munchling! Specifically, this is a scented mystery box munchling, and the one she opened is the Pluto Thanksgiving Sandwich.

Good morning fellow dreamers. Join me this morning in The Peach State for a LIVE walking tour of downtown St. Marys, Georgia!

We’ll be exploring this lovely coastal town along the beautiful St. Marys River, which is also the border between the state of Florida and the state of Georgia. Let’s check out the downtown and riverfront together today, as well as anything else that we happen to stumble upon. I haven’t been to St. Marys in a few years, I believe since 2020 if I’m remembering correctly, so it’s been a bit of time and I’m excited to go on a Georgian Adventure with you today.
