Thank you to each and every one of you who joined me yesterday for sunrise along the St. Johns River--as we celebrated the launch of "Genevieve's Journey Through Jacksonville" while in downtown Jacksonville! It meant the world to me, and I hope you enjoyed a beautiful start to the day from this wonderful and very special city.

This area along the riverwalk is one of my favorite areas in all of Jacksonville and it's definitely worth a visit. Plus, Friendship Fountain is absolutely one of the nicest and most peaceful spots along the riverfront, and such a calming place to sit and relax for a bit while you're downtown.

Also, don't forget that the Jacksonville Museum of Science and History (MOSH) will be closing by September 1st for a brand new building to be built, and it will be closed for a few years during the construction. You have a few weeks left if you'd like to check out MOSH before the closure - located directly next to Friendship Fountain.

Hey there fellow dreamers.

Thank you for joining us on a lovely nature walk in Tinley Park, Illinois yesterday!

This is beautiful Centennial Park, and I absolutely love it. It's got a fabulous loop for walkers and runners, plus so many lovely prairie flowers, as well as a creek and a lake - which means many ducks and geese too lol. I enjoyed it so much on our summer 2024 road trip, that I had to come back this year.

About five minutes after our livestream ended a thunderstorm came through. So it was perfect timing, and a brief relief on a very hot summer day to make this walk in the heavy cloud cover, protected somewhat from the sun.

I hope you enjoyed coming along with me and our special guests, and if you missed it live, the replay is linked in the comments down below. My next livestreams will be on the road once again - and unless weather forces me to change things, I'm aiming for Terre Haute, Indiana as well as Chattanooga, Tennessee - this week.

This was Friday in fabulous Frankfort, Illinois!

We've been here a few times now on livestream, and I really enjoy taking y'all here with me. Frankfort is a very small town in the southern suburbs of Chicago. Known for the Fall Frankfort Fest, which takes place on Labor Day weekend, this tiny town turns into a massive fall festival each year.

There's carnival rides, fried foods, and lots and lots of arts and crafts. With booths spread out all over this little downtown area, Frankfort always looks completely different to me when there's no fest going on. I haven't been to the fest in many years now, since we moved to Florida eight years ago. But if you're in town over Labor Day weekend, it's definitely worth stopping by and checking out all the fall fun.

I have many good memories from the fest, and I'd love to know if you've ever been as well? Or is there a town festival where you live that kicks off the school year and the start of the fall season, and brings with it many good memories?

456) My favorite drive in the world... to my favorite place in the world.

Hey there fellow dreamers!

Come along with Genevieve and I on a five hundred mile journey south - as we drive along the Jimmy Buffett Memorial Highway/S.R. A1A and U.S. Route 1/Overseas Highway.

We made our way from Jacksonville, Florida down to the Southernmost Point of the United States in Key West, Florida... My favorite drive in the world, to my favorite place in the world.

Along the way, we stopped at Bahia Honda State Park for the very first time! This is where you can get up close to some of the original Florida East Coast Railway bridges that are still visible. Built back in the earlier 1900's, I learned that much of what remains of these former tracks is now on the National Register of Historic Places.

One of the most special aspects of this drive to me is simple - it is the scenic view of the ocean waters. The open ocean, the channels, the creeks, the seemingly endless amount of bridges crossed. All the boats out, enjoying the ocean breeze. And while I know there are strong currents out there, it always amazes me to see those currents in motion. Mostly though, it's just the simple act of glancing at the water in the natural scenery, and it's the color of the water that just sends me to Heaven. It's a pure aqua, and crystal clear at the same time. It darkens as the clouds change overhead. And it glistens and sparkles in the hot, afternoon sunshine. It's other-worldly to me, looking out at the vast expanse of open ocean surrounding me. Looking out at the horizon, I can only think of how many stories that are out there, and are yet to be told.

I also share with you many of my favorite spots along the way, including food and drink stops, rest stops (I have rated rest stops my whole life lol), gas stops, hotels, and other sites as well - including the Florida Keys Sculpture Trail. This sculpture trail was another something new for me on this trip, and I include with the video, a link to a map of the Keys with all the sculptures and their locations along the way.

What's amazing to me about us being on these adventures together - with you - on YouTube, is that it was only through the act of actually editing this video that I learned these sculptures even existed. And I've driven this route so many times. So, I can't thank you enough for offering me the opportunity to learn so very much as we go through life's adventures together.

Today we’re checking out and departing the Waterside Suites & Marina in Key Largo, Florida. It’s the final day of our Florida Keys road trip for this winter 2025, and it’s very sad to leave, but we must go home! And, of course I’ll be happy once we get there. But it is definitely very hard and sad to say goodbye, even to the overseas highway.

433) The first roosters on our way down to Key West...

This was the moment I caught sight of the very first roosters during our road trip from Jax to Key West.

We were stopped at a Dunkin in Hialeah, Florida, for a coffee and one last break before getting on the overseas highway. Of course, there have been an abundance of roosters during the course of this adventure, and I might have filmed nearly every single one I laid eyes on. I'm not sure though.

Either way, I really believe that seeing all the roosters and chickens - to me - are a pure delight, and true highlight of visiting the Keys. They have quite a personality too. Would you believe it if I told you a bunch of these very roosters in this parking lot came right up to the car, and um, really wanted to hop inside. I said, omg they're gonna jump in the car lol.

It’s cold outside in The Sunshine State. We had to move our plants inside from our porch. I hope they survive… This is truly historic.

427) A very brief walk in Howell Park - Atlantic Beach, Florida 1.18.2025

Join me today for a very brief walk in beautiful Howell Park. Located in Atlantic Beach, Florida, this park is one of my favorites at the beach! It’s blended right into an adorable coastal neighborhood, with streams and bridges, picnic tables and other benches scattered about. There are gravel trails, and some areas have wooden boardwalks, plus free on-site parking.

It’s so peaceful and serene… I love looking for creatures, and I usually see a turtle or two at a minimum. Mostly, I simply enjoy looking at all the foliage, watching the palm fronds flow in the winds of the day, keeping my eye out for lizards, and simply appreciating all the natural beauty surrounding me here.

Definitely check this very special place out next time you are in Atlantic Beach!

399) Holiday Baking Traditions

Baking night is tonight... Many thanks for joining us yesterday for Dough Day!

Genevieve had quite a big day yesterday. She got a bath - and besides home livestreams, getting a bath is one of her favorite activities. And then we put on our matching buffalo check pajamas for the evening (wearing an outfit is also extremely exciting for a little Sheltie), and we had a wonderful night together.

I'll see you this evening for baking night. I'm very curious how many cookies this much dough will produce. The recipe says we'll get 36 cookies out of it, but I'm not so sure.
